I just packed mine with a fiberglass wrap. Just take out the baffle, wrap it and pop rivet it back in place. It quieted mine down a bit while still drowning out that sewing machine sound. It will eventually burn out, but it's not that hard to do. I actually like the sound better and it reduced the frequency of backfires(white spacer also removed).
